Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

run stop sign

I run a stop sign and got a ticked, but when I came back next day, I found out that the stop sign was not made of light-reflect material, so it's not bright enough in the night. Can I cancel my ticket in the court because the stop sign is bad?

Re: run stop sign

If you are able to demonstrate to the Court that the sign was not visible to you when you failed to stop

you will win your case.

Call me if you like. I think you have asked this same question before.

Re: run stop sign

It can't hurt to try, but I really doubt it. I'm a real cynic when it comes to municipal courts. While I have had a lot of great victories, they are very hard fought. Thus, I don't have much hope for a dismissal for you unless you were to get an attorney. However, its not that big of a ticket so you probably don't need one unless you cannot afford any more points.
