Since everything is computerized these days and there are interstate motor vehicle commission agreements between the states, you should assume that your insurance company will find out. Regarding the ticket itself, I was just in court on the same type of ticket for my client last night and was able to get a very large reduction in the number of points. Generally insurance companies ask each state for ticket info, and they share info like that, so you have to assume they will, though from time to time they may not. Years ago, I received a ticket in Mississippi... 7 years later, NJ found out and gave me 2 points for a ticket just over 7 years old! ANYTHING that benefits the insurance companies, you must first assume they will find out, and act accordingly.
