Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
shrubury
I live on a corner lot. A person had an auto accident on the corner of my property. They are holding me liable and are saying that my fence and brush on the fence contibuted to the accident. The fence had been there a long time before I purchased the property and the incident happened three years ago. I have not aquired thhe police report yet but the motion states that the individual is sueing their husband and i'm listed as the third party defendant. What should be my next steps and what kind of liability am I looking at. Could I lose everything because of this incident.

Re: shrubury
I would expect that you have a homeowner's insurance policy. Give the complaint to your homeowner's insurance company. Under your policy the insurance company must pay for your attorney and for a successful claim against you, up to the limit of the policy.
Call me if you like.

You need to contact your homeowner's insurance company and have them handle this case for you. That is their job. Thank you.
