Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I was sitting in the idling car in the handicapped parking space, and was giving a ticket for parking in the handicapped space, is there a point of fighting a ticket, since the car was not "parked" (left unattended) for a period of time?

The sense of the law is that the spot needs to be available for handicapped people. And in any case, do you see any real distinction between a car that is left in place for an extended period of time with the motor running or the motor not running? Bottom line- if a handicapped person came along, they couldn't use that spot because you were occupying it. Pay the ticket and learn a lesson!
