Pacing is a less precise way to estimate the speed of another vehicle. Your speedometer must be recently calibrated to be accurate, but even with that it relies upon ability of the officer to maintain a constant distance between the front of his car and the back of yours.

Additionally, the officer has to drive at a speed greater than the vehicle he is overtaking in order to overtake it so that the speed which he attains in overtaking a vehicle is probably greater than the vehicle he pursues.

Pace means the officer followed you for a period of time and paced your speed by comparing it to his own.

Depending on how long the officer was "pacing" you this could be an easy argument or next to impossible.

Police officers are trained in multiple methods af accomplishing this. Pacing is a recognized method of calculating speed for purposes of speed enforcement where proper methodology has been followed.

it generally means that the officer paced behind you in his vehicle and monitored your speed on his onw speedometer

If you are going to court by yourself, don't plan on having much work to your advantage. Also, you are looking at a 4 point ticket so if you get 0 points, I should put you to work for me.
