I got a speeding ticket for doing 100 mph in a 65 mile. Zone this is my first offense. I got this ticket in upstate new york by a state trooper. I didn't get a ticket I got something like a summons should I plead guilty or try to fight this I don't want to drive 4 hours or more to go to court. Would I get points on my lisence I got a new jersey lisence and nj lisence plates.

Although I do not practice in New York attorneys that I have referred cases to in New York have advised that a New York Driver might be assessed 6 to 8 M V points on their license for traveling that fast. If you were in New Jersey you would be facing 5 Motor vehicle points and a potentially lenghty suspension. I would encourage you to hire an attorney (obviously in New York) to reduce the points because some points do transfer between New York and New Jersey. I know some lawyers that handle these kinds of cases in upstate N Y but again it depends where. Please call me if you want (201)-894-9498 and would be happy to refer you to someone, assuming that they practice some what near the area where you received the ticket. Again it would pay for you to retain counsel. good luck
