Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Speeding Ticket
I recently got a speeding ticket in New Jersey for driving 85ml/hr in 55 ml zone, the ticket however was filled out wrong by the officer - my car has an Illinois plates but he put down on the ticket that it is a Nevada plate.
My questions are: Is there a chance that this ticket can be dismissed because of this error or should I just pay it and if I do go to court do I need an attorney?
Thanks

Re: Speeding Ticket
It is highly unlikely that you will be able to get off based on this technicality as Judges may permit amendment/correction of the ticket even at the hearing. These minor errors are not focused on as much as the underlying conduct that caused you to be ticketed.
With that said, however, an attorney may be able to help you fight the ticket on some other grounds (i.e., radar issues, probable cause) or secure a favorable resolution of the matter whereby you save points on your license.
If your matter arises in South/Central New Jersey, I would be glad to give you a free consultation to determine if I can help.
