Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Speeding Ticket and Wreckless Driving

I was doing 94 in 50 on the Palisades Parkway. The officer issued 2 tickets. One for Speeding and one for Wreckless Driving. He said because of the exsessive speed I was issued a wreckless driving. What constitues wreckless driving? I have 0 points on my license. Is this an automactic suspended or revoked license ruling? Also I've postponed the ticket once ... am I allowed to postpone it again ... I will be away at a meeting in another state.

I have read what the other attorneys wrote.

Yes, you are facing license suspension, fines and maybe, maybe some jail time. Please do not drive that fast ever again!

Get a lawyer. I practice in Bergen County, which is where the Palisades Parkway is located. Call if you like.

Re: Speeding Ticket and Wreckless Driving

You can try to postpone it, but it depends on which pissed-off, angry-at-the-world, government secretary you get when you call the court. Those people love treating you like a child, and would love a reason to deny your new date. I would hire an attorney to get this over with and minimize your punishment. Feel free to call our offices or e-mail me directly.

Re: Speeding Ticket and Wreckless Driving

You're looking at 10 points on these tickets, five points for each one. If you get twelve points your license is automatically suspended by the state motor vehicle commission. I would advise you to hire a lawyer to represent you to try and lower the points. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout NJ in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-

Re: Speeding Ticket and Wreckless Driving

You are really facing only one traffic charge. The alleged reckless driving is the speeding. Your case is controlled by the concept of merger, meaning that the charges are viewed as only only offense. Secondly, the best resolution is to reduce the speed and to have the reckless driving dismissed pursuant to a plea bargain. You need an attorney for this.

Yes, you are looking at a suspended DL but because of the speed, not the reckless driving. I strongly suggest you speak with a good attorney ASAP.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
