Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

speeding ticket - wrong speed zone written by officer

Ticket says I was in a 25 mph zone. I was not. It is a 35 mph zone. I have photos of the 35 mph sign. Will the ticket be dismissed, or will the officer just change his error on the ticket?

What speed were you charge with driving? If you were charged with 70 mph the ten mph difference

in the zone will not be of any consequence.

You might give me a call.

Officer or prosecutor have only 30 days to amend the ticket. No amendments allowed after that. So, ask for a court date and make sure 30 days have passed before you go to the court.

This really depends upon the prosecutor. This may be a clerical error, but depending upon how fast you were allegedly going it may not make any difference as to the number of points associated with the speed. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in New Jersey in the past. I would like to discuss your case with you in more detail. Please contact me at your convenience. There is never any charge for simply talking to me about a case. Thank you.
