Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Is there a statute of limitation on driving with a suspended license in NJ? In jan 2007, I got tons of tickets and none were for driving with a suspended license (although I was). Just finally took care of them and now I'm getting a letter from DMV saying they're going to suspend my license for 180 days.

If motor vehicles believes that you drove while suspended it can suspend you driving privilege
administratively. You have a right to oppose the suspension but must file for same before
the suspension date.
Call me if you like. I know what to do.
The is no statute of limitations but you can challlenge the suspension
There is no statute of limitations with respect to Driving while Suspended. However your problem based on what you stated is that your received tickets during a period when your Driver's License was under suspension (even though you were never issued an actual ticket for that Offense). The Motor Vehicle Commission has chosen to suspend your License administratively for 180 days. what you need to do is request a Hearing and the Notice that you received should explain this to you. You need to provide the MVC will compelling reasons concerning why you should be granted a hearing and be afforded an opportunity to meet with a Hearing Officer to see if there is way to avoid a suspension or a least negotiate for a lower suspension period. Your request must be in writing and must be received by the MVC's officer prior to the date that the suspension is scheduled to go into effective. I have experience in handling these hearings. Again, it is not automatic that they will grant your request, but if you do not at least get your request to them on or before the scheduled suspension date, the suspension will go into effect immediately and your window to challenge it will be forever closed. You need to act immediately, even if you choose to pursue a hearing without an attorney. Again, please feel free to call (201)-894-9498, i do not charge a fee merely to speak with someone about their case, good luck
