Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Stopped for Moving Violation/DUI but did not receive a summons

I was stopped for a Moving Violation/suspicion of DUI while driving a family member's car. I could not find the registration or proof of insurance, but I did have my license. The police officer ran the vehicle's plates and gave me some DUI tests. The police officer did not issue me a summons. I appear to be lucky, but I want to make sure that this will not affect my family member in any way (insurance increase, legal liability, driving record, etc.)

In addition to what Mr. Moore said, the officer "could" mail you tickets. Normally this happens when you are not even pulled over but just observed doing something wrong. The other situations are when the officer runs out of time because he gets called to an emergency of he does not have a ticket book.

Thus, you could get a ticket for no insurance and no registration mailed to you.
