Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Struck by police officer
I was recently struck by a police officer who was supposedly responding to a call. I did not hear any sirens or lights to indicate that there were any emergency vehicles around me. I had a green light and continued through the intersection and then struck on the drivers side by his vehicle. My car was totalled. According to police and supposed witness they claim the officer yielded at the light (he had the red) and began to cross the intersection. The impact and the damage on the car state otherwise. I was issued a summons for failing to yield and need to know how to fight it. Unfortunately, I am not having much luck finding legal representation. I don't feel it was right especially with so much incongruency on the other side.

Just like where you are struck from behind, where you were struck in the side, the ticket should automatically go the the other vehicle. If you were struck in the driver's side, I hope your injuries are not too severe - how are you?
Please feel free to contact me for help.

This is very interesting, and you likely have a claim against the police officer, in spite of his self-serviing report. Feel free to call my offices for a free consultation or e-mail me directly at my personal e-mail address: [email protected]. I look forward to speaking with you.
