Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Suspended licese

I have not driven since 1996, I just paid all my fines and two warrants for not going to court in 1995 & 1996. I have never had any moving violations and I do not have any points. Initially my license was suspended for parking tickets. When I was stopped I did not know that my license was suspended. Please advise as to what my penalties might be.

Re: Suspended licese

With an attorney you should be able to avoid further suspension of your driving privileges. These are old charges and there MAY be some difficulty in the State proving them

but it is difficult for you to accomplish this without an attorney because anything you say to the prosecutor can be used to prove the charge against you.

Call me if you like.

Re: Suspended licese

I can not tell WHAT your problem actually is with DMV from your inquiry. I assume from your inquiry, that you recieved a notice from MVS... FIRST, call or go to MVS, ask for a driver's abstract, and ask someone to explain to you what the hell is going on, and ask them WHO to speak to to straighten it out (get a name, number and address). See what they can do to straighten things out, or at least let you know exactly what the problem is. Chances are you still owe some fee they assessed. Ask if they can waive it, or just pay it and straighten things out with them, because of you don't, there is SOME way NJ will find to screw you up in the future. 90% of these people a t the state level are incompetent, so keep asking, and GET THINGS IN WRITING! If you still have a problem, go to an attorney, you have no choice. Good luck.

Re: Suspended licese

You are looking at further suspension of your license, possible jail time, and heavy fines. However, based on the facts you provided I can probably get this changed down to something where you just pay a small fine and do not have the other severe penalties. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout NJ in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
