Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Ticket for driving with

Hello,

I'm Romanian living in Houston, Texas. I am here for my internship on a J1 visa. I've been here for 3.5months and I will be leaving on the 30th of September. Last weekend (30th of August) I was stopped by a police office for speeding (64 in a 25mph zone). I was given two tickets. One for speeding and one for ''driving with expired township privileges''. I don't have a US drivers licence, but I have a valid romanian licence (translated in english, valid until 2013). Given that in Texas I don't need to procure a licence (since I can use my own DL for up to one year and that I would only stay in the us for 4 months) I never applied for a US one.

I have to mention that I was previously stopped in New Brunswick and given a similar ticket (driving without a proper licence), but I wrote a letter to the judge explaining the situation and the charges were dismissed.

What are the implications of not paying these tickets? Do they have an impact on weather or not I could reapply for a US visa?

What can I do for the ''driving with expired township privileges'' ticket?

And lastly, what would be the fine for the speeding ticket if i chose to pay it.

Thank you

Re: Ticket for driving with

If you ignore a traffic ticket a warrant for your arrest will be issued by the judge.

If you are leaving the country just pay the tickets.

If you will be returning to New Jersey you should hire an attorney to appear for you to reduce the motor vehicle points for the offense by having the

charge amended, meaning changed.
