Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Tickets with Errors: Dismissed, if contested?

My question is on NJ traffic laws about tickets with errors. I have NY license & plates. Recently got a moving violation ticket in NJ, in which the officer made error in writing that ticket. He entered wrong state for my vehicle registration. He entered NJ, instead of NY. Is this ground for dismissal, if mentioned in the court? Thanks.

Minor clerical errors do not invalidate a traffic summonses. The purpose of the summons is to give the defendant notice of the charge against him. You seem to know the nature of the

charge against you. If you need assistance with

the traffic summons give me a call. I am just up

the street from the court in Hackensack.

this error will not give you a chance to beat this ticket unless you use it correctly, and even then it is not guaranteed. YOu need a lawyer to assist you. I would be happy to discuss this with you. 973 890 0400.
