Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

traffic accident

I was t-boned by another car in a recent accident. Stopped at a stop sign and went foward so i got hit by the other car on the driver side. the cop didnt give me a ticket, can i still get a ticket thru the mail? and if i was ticketed, will i get points on my lincese? i already got a suspended lincese for speeding, i went to the class and got it fixed, but will my lincese get suspended again if i get ticketed? My insurance pretty much told me it was my fault but the cop didnt say anything.

You should definitely talk to an attorney right away. We can help with both the criminal side and the personal injury side. Plus, you may be able to recover even if you have a suspended license. Call our offices.

Re: traffic accident

Police ARE allowed to serve a ticket through the mail. The ticket can result in points. As to whether that results in a suspension for you, that depends on how many points you have and whether your license is on probation. If so, you can get suspended even if you don't get any points. Call me if you would like to discuss it further at 877*688*3879.

It is possible, particularly if the other driver decides to sign a complaint.

and if i was ticketed, will i get points on my lincese?

It depends on what the summons might be issued. If it is a careless driving ticket (possibly) or a reckless driving tiket (unlikely) there are points for both of these.

i already got a suspended lincese for speeding, i went to the class and got it fixed, but will my lincese get suspended again if i get ticketed?

Again, it will all depend on what summons issues, and how many points you have on your license now.

My insurance pretty much told me it was my fault but the cop didnt say anything.

Evenm if you do not get a summons, you may still incur "insurance points" which could result in increased premiums.

Feel free to contact my office if you have any more questions.
