Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Traffic Offense
I was pulled over for improperly passing a school bus yesterday. The school bus was on the other side of the road, I didnt notice its extended stop sign until I had already passed the bus. I realize this was a huge lapse in judgement, but must now face the consequences regardless. The cop treated me like I had just committed murder, telling me this was a five point ticket, and that I better show up to court. I understand this is a serious ticket, however I would like to know just what exactly the consequences are. What are the typical fines for this ticket, what are the court fees, and since its a five point ticket could I lose my license?

Five points means a hefty increase in your car insurance for three years. You need a no pointer.
