Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

vague speeding ticket, NJ

I received a vague speeding ticket:

My speed was listed as ''60''. Also,

the officer did not check off any

choices for equipment (helicopter,

pace, speed measuring device, or

EBTD). I did not look at my

speedometer either: When I saw

the police car approaching with lights,

I assumed it needed to pass and

immediately pulled over. I was

surprised to receive the ticket, and

confused by the lack of

documentation. What should I do?

Re: vague speeding ticket, NJ

It is possible to fight a speeding ticket. The State has the burden of proving the case against you. I would need to see what evidence, if any, the police have against you before I could give you a definite answer about whether it is possible to win your case. If it isn't, then there is always the possibility of entering into a plea bargain to reduce the points you are facing. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
