A third conviction for Driving while suspended is a $1,000.00 fine and 10 days in jail. there is also a further suspension of driving privleges and other potential penalties. Therefore, you are clearly looking at mandatory jail time for a fourth and/or fifth offense along with another $1,000.00 fine. what you should do is stop driving until you fix your license. Sometimes you can work out other options in a given case based on the circumstances but it is difficult and may not be possible especially if you have no defense. be prepared to go to jail because that is most likely an unfortunate part of the outcome. Again this is a general answer because i do not know the facts of your case, feel free to call with any questions (201)-894-9498

Best case scenario: 10 days in jail or some alternative to jail, like the SLAP program.

Worst case scenario: 40 - 50 days in jail depending upon whether it is a fourth or fifth conviction. If you were suspended for DUI or no insurance you could be facing even more jail time. Please contact my office for a free consultation to discuss how I can assist you. Thank you.
