Unfortunately, the answer is ususally no because the judge can allow corrections to minor items such as this as long as no new charges are alleged. In your case it is weird, however, that the wrong tag is from a car you used to own.

While I'd first discuss the facts with you to see if we can "beat" the charge, your best option may be to arrange a plea to a lesser charge or a "no-point" ticket.
