Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My aunt recently passed away. I need to see here last will and testament. Are they filed in the courts. if so would I be able to access?

If your aunt had a Will and it was probated, then it becomes a public record, so you can go to the Surrogate's office in the county where your aunt died and ask to see a copy of the Will. In addition, if you are named in the Will, or if you are an heir at law, then by Court rule, the executor must provide you with a copy of the Will once it has been probated.

I agree with Jon. If there was no Will, but someone filed to be administrator, this information is also available at the Surrogate's Office.
