I'm separated. His father just died & bequethed him a large sum of money. Am I entitled to any of it since legally I'm still his wife?

I agree with Gary that gifts and inheritances are not marital property (subject to equitable distribution) unless converted to marital assets. This would apply whether received before or after your separation. Double check with your marital attorney.

As a spouse you are entitled to share in all property, real estate or personal, acquired during your marriage, in a divorce, with the exception of inheritance and gifts received by him.
