certificate of death-non-relative

how can i obtain a copy in order to cash a payable upon death bond .all friends or relatives have passed on,& info vital records requires is impossible to aquire ex:mothers maiden&fathers full names. this info dates to 1800's

You should only require death certificate for the primary person named in the bond. Are there next of kin who were involved in the decedent's estate from whom you could get one? If not, I would think a simple Order from the Probate Court in the County where the decedent died would be all you need. You should be able to do this yourself, with some assistance from the Surrogate, although an attorney might be needed. How much is the bond, and what type of bond is it, as the value might not cover the costs and fees you might incur if you cannot do this yourself.
