Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

I am desperate. My brother and sisters took back my part of my parents estate as I am the only one disabled and they did it before in another matter. My brother is also holding back other money. I can't afford an attorney but despite his being a millionaire he is miserly to almost a sickness so even the THREAT or a letter from an attorney would probably be enough to correct his behavior.

However, all m siblings took all the valuable antiques and jewlery and a truck and when ia sked for my Mom's old used car charged ME the book value! They have thousands in art work and rare furniture ect. i can't get a photo of my Dad.

I need advice or even a suggestion where to turn. I've tried to go online for someone who helps disabled people in situations like this unsuccessfully. I have severe PSTD and when i get upset i don't do too well. I tried to submit the question but where's the free button? You answered I didn't hit it but I can't find it. Also, I have no secret code. Humbly yours, Paula .....sydor [email protected]

Try looking for a legitimate free legal service, for example Community Legal Service or a Disability law project, that actually provides pro bono services based on income eligibility.

It sounds as if you may need a Supplemental Needs Trust to hold money and property for you, so that you will not be disqualified from important government benefits that you may be eligible for. Regardless of your age, an elder law attorney may also be able to help, but, except for the legal services type agencies I mentioned, very few lawyers are able to provide free legal services.

If your siblings are already trustees for a Supplemental Needs Trust for your benefit and you feel that they are not using the assets in the trust appropriately for your benefit, you should consult lawyers to help advise you and to seek remedies that will correct any inappropriate actions your siblings have taken or actions that they have not taken but should have.

This response is not legal advice, since I do not have all of the information that would be required, and I do not have a representation agreement with you.

* If the answers to your question confirm that you have a valid issue or worthwhile claim, your next step should almost always be to establish a dialog with a lawyer who can provide specific advice to you. Contact a lawyer in your county or township.

* Another reason for contacting a lawyer is that it is often impossible to give a good answer in the Internet Q&A format without having more information. The unique circumstances of your situation and things that you may not have thought to mention in your question may completely change the answer. If you want to be sure that you have a complete answer to your question and an understanding of what that answer means, establish a connection with a lawyer who practices in the area of your concern.
