Is the executor of a will notified when a new will is drafted?

No. The person named as executor in a Will does not need to be notified until the testator dies. New executors can be named without notifying or discussing it with executors named in a previous Will.

I agree. Since a Will is revocable and can be changed under normal circumstances at any time until death or incapacity of the maker, even the original Executor is not notified of his/her appointment, much less as to changes in the document or even if a replacement is designated in a new document..
