Why would my ex-husbands (now deceased) wife need the dates of our marriage and divorce to settle his will

These are typical questions asked by the Surrogate of the county in which the will is to be probated. It is in order to determine whether or not you may have a claim against his estate. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. You will only be able to rely on advice from an attorney who you have actually retained. Seek legal advice as soon as possible. Good luck! Rob Gleaner
Not having seen the Will, while Robert is correct, there may be other issues that can only be discussed upon reading the Will. One illustration, there may be references in it citing you as has wif, which are negated by your divorce.
