Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My father passed leaving my sister executrix. She is a meddler who never had her own children and I told her to stop meddling in my family and she threatened to keep money my dad left me. I saved the text threat. I was given only 1 stock; my father had told me he had left more. His house was sold for far less than it should have been sold for - a friend saw the sale in the paper, and I heard nothing for a year. I then received a document in the mail from her lawyer to sign deducting thousands from my disbursement for alleged "loans." I refused to sign stating I would not sign anything altering my fathers will.

Her lawyer threatened me stating if I refused to sign the corrupt document they would take me to court and take double that. I demanded my disbursement multiple times. I still refused to sign, so the lawyer threatened me again, and I told him not to contact me with threats again and I would forward his threats to the bar and that was my final demand.

Weeks have passed and I did not receive my disbursement or a full accounting. My sister jumped the rails and contacted my daughter-in-law by text trashing me. She then contacting her on FB trashing me, and then emailed her trashing me. My son said she is nuts. This has crossed all boundaries of legality and normalcy and I think both her and her attorney should go to jail. What steps should I take to put these two in their place and get her to stop harassing my family? My daughter said we should be able to go after her for mental anguish. Please help - this is terrible and I want my money released, a full accounting, and to get her away from my family and I.

You need to get your own estates lawyer to demand a formal accounting. Don't waste time seeking other answers. by doing so you may lose rights that you have.

THIS RESPONSE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, SINCE I DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE REQUIRED, AND I DO NOT HAVE A REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT WITH YOU.

* If the answers to your question confirm that you have a valid issue or worthwhile claim, your next step should almost always be to establish a dialog with a lawyer who can provide specific advice to you. Contact a lawyer in your county or township.

* Another reason for contacting a lawyer is that it is often impossible to give a good answer in the Internet Q&A format without having more information. The unique circumstances of your situation and things that you may not have thought to mention in your question may completely change the answer. If you want to be sure that you have a complete answer to your question and an understanding of what that answer means, establish a connection with a lawyer who practices in the area of your concern.
