Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey
My father passed away in May. My sister and I paid for his entire funeral ourselves. He doesn't have much in his estate, only a couple thousand dollars. Several people have told us, that we get repaid for the funeral costs first. Is this true?

Funeral claims have priority...yes, you should get repaid before other creditors and beneficiaries.
