how do i find out who was in a will and what it was

I am assuming that you are talking about a Will that has already been probated after someones death. If so, you would need to obtain a record of probate from the surrogate office in the County where the person resided at the time of their death. If the person is alive there is no record of the Will anywhere that can be searched.
