Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Inheritance

My father has passed away and my sister is executor, she sends us, the heirs, a typed account of the money that is left. My nephew lives in one of two houses that my father owns.My sister has recently sent us another typed account and on it were the words ---- rent in ink, so my questions is, doesnt she have to prove that he in fact is paying rent?I was told he owed back rent when my dad was alive and is still living rent free.what can I do? that means my inheritance will pay his rent.

Re: Inheritance

I need more information to answer your question, including a copy of your father's will and the "accounting" provided by your sister and any lease concerning your nephews tenancy in the house your father owned.

If the nephew was supposed to pay rent (I assume he was) it should be a simple matter to account for any rent received (or any shortfall).

The bigger question is what is happening with the two houses? Are they supposed to be sold and the net proceeds distributed? What about the other estate assets?
