Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Irrevocable Trust

My father and mother entered into an credit shelter trust in 1990. After my fathers death the trust became irrevocable. My mother then changed the successor trustee. Is this allowed? Article 14, of the trust under successor trustees states ''absent of written instructions to the contrary'' the successor trustee is US Bank. Does this clause allow the change of successor trustee?

Re: Irrevocable Trust

To answer your question, I would need to review the entire will/trust to determine whether (and how) successor trustees may be appointed. However, based on the language quoted, it appears that the successor trustee could be changed if done so in writing.
