Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey
missing family photos
My grandmother recently passed away. She was 93 and had alot of old family photos. Going thru her personal items, I discovered a shirt-sized box of old family photos missing. About two months before she was unable to live alone, an in-law hired a cleaner service for my grandmother to clean every two weeks. The same in-law 'supposedly' went to my grandmother's home telling me that she was just removing 'clutter' prior to the cleaners arrival. The family photos were viewed by myself and my spouse a month or two previous to the 'clutter' cleanup. No one else had a reason to steal these family photos. This person is denying she took them. I really just want to make copies of the photos for the rest of my family. What should I do to get these pictures back?

Re: missing family photos
My advice would be to try and take the high road.
Ask all family members or anyone else who had access to the home, if they remember seeing a box of family photos and also casually mention that you're interested in making copies for those who may want them.
See if that helps the box of photos 'reappear.' If it doesn't, you may be out of luck, because based on your facts, it will be next to impossible to prove anyone took the photos, and in any case the cost would likely be prohibitive.
