Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

municipal court judge ,a conflict?

My mother just passed, she had a live in boyfriend of 12+ yrs. she left me as the sole heir. She made her bf the executor, and he has hired a municipal court judge (lawyer) to settle the estate. Is this a conflict of interest? I feel like I will get cleaned out betweenthe two of them. HELP. How long will it be before they will settle this small estate? It has been over 2 months. The BF has already taken things that are not his that were left to me.AND how can I find out about the insurance policy, he just wants me to sign off on it. HElp. I Thank-You in advance. DO I need to get my own lawyer?

Re: municipal court judge ,a conflict?

I don't see a conflict because a municipal court judge has no impact on estate cases. YES, YOU SHOULD CONSULT WITH AN ATTORNEY ASAP.
