Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

my non legal dad

my father is not legally my father but he raised me, he told me he wanted me to be in control of his health if something ever happened to him. we never made a legal will or directive. so is there anything i can do. hes in the hospital now, and on so much medication hes not oriented. help

How many times have we heard that old story...he never signed a will, never bothered to sign a power of attorney, never signed a living will...

Unfortunately, if your 'non-legal dad' is now too sick or too medicated to sign documents, I'm afraid you are probably out of luck as you have no authority to act on his behalf.
