Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Nonperformance of Duties

A lawyer I dealt with took final payment and never finished the work. I have contacted him by phone and mail and he doesn't respond. The estate is now closed but I needed the final itemized bill for the costs associated with the closing on the house and then for the closing of the estate. He also needs to send a letter to a beneficiary who caused problems for the estate. Please tell me what to do next. Just tell me what to do, not to contact you as there is no money left in the estate. Thanks.

Re: Nonperformance of Duties

You do not indicate if your are the heir or executor or administrator or creditor of the estate. If you are one of these, I would suggest that you go to the Surrogate's office in the County where the Estate was being administered and ask how you can compel an accounting.
