Assuming the deceased husband did not leave a Will, what the wife recieves depends on a number of factors, including whether or not the husband had surviving children and/or parents who survived him.

Anywhere from 1/3 (elective share) to all, depending upon many factors including whether he had a Will, had children with this or another wife, how assets are regiustered/titled, who is designated beneficiary if there are retirement plans or insurance, etc. More facts are needed for a complete answer.
