Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Power Of Attorney

If I download a POA form, fill it out, have 2 witnesses sign and have it notorized, is it as legal in NJ as if I had had it done by an attorney?

Must it also be filed with the county?

What is the purpose of the power of attorney?

Does the downloaded form cover the interests that need to be protected?

I'm generally not a big fan of computer generated forms to solve legal problems, because you're only getting a form, but not the legal advice you will need to use it properly. In my opinion, it's 'penny wise, pound foolish' and you would be better served speaking with an attorney.
