Probate

My mother was about to inherit some money. She is recently deceased. How does this affect her inheritance?

Re: Probate

I agree with Ron that it depends upon the language of the Will or other document creating the inheritance. Some documents allow what is to go to someone who dies before receiving it to go to their estate or their heirs, some documents require that to receive it, the person must survive for a stated time period, and some documents say if the person is deceased on the distribution date they lose the inheritance. If you could get me a copy of the document I could give you a more specific response.

Re: Probate

It all depends on the terms of the Will. The Will might give her interest to her heirs or the gift may lapse. You need to discuss this with an Estate attorney.

I hope this helps!
