This is a probate question. Short version: I had death in the family. I am the only living relative. No will was left for my cousin's estate. How to I go about to be executor?

APPLY TO BE ADMINISTRATOR AT SURROGATE'S OFFICE IN COUNTY WHERE YOUR COUSIN LIVED. THIS WILL REQUIRE PROOF YOU ARE BOTH THE CLOSEST LIVING RELATIVE AND HEIR. YOU WILL NEED AN ORIGINAL DEATH CERTIFICATE AND BONDING IS REQUIRED. CAN BE EXPENSIVE PROBATE.
