Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

What is a reasonable amount of time that a lawyer should take to pay remaining bills of deceased parent. Parent dies 6/20/10. Same lawyer handled estate set up for past 2 1/2 years, so very familiar with deceaseded situation. Has deceased remaining funds in his "escrow account" including funds to pay himself. He emailed me told me they would be paid last THursday. When I coalled affice Friday staff informed me they were not paid. Sent him email Friday as of today have not heard back from him.

I would need more information to provide you with an opinion.

However, I've never seen any estate where all the estate debts and expenses were paid within 30 days of death. That seems very unrealistic to me. As an example, many bills, in particular, medical bills, are often not even recieved until many months after death [I've seen hospital bills that were not recieved until a full year after death].
