Can I obtain an original of a trust agreement using the freedom of information act?

John is partially correct - any governmental party to the document is subject to FOI, whether it be Federal, State or local. Usually, if a governmental entity is not a party, only interested parties are entitled to the document. Others may have to litigate to get production, and show a need why they are entitled to it. Mere curiosity is not enough.

Not unless the federal government is a party to the trust.
