Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My sister was named Executrix. After his passing, she has no children and tampered in mine so I told her to not contact them. She immediately threatened to withhold money my father left. I was given a stock and his house was sold a year ago. I received paperwork for me to sign where she took thousands from my share for repayment of money my father gave me while alive. We are friends with a retired judge who told us they're not allowed to do that.

I wrote her attorney back refusing to sign. Her lawyer sent me an email threatening to take double that out if I didn't sign. I refused so he sent me another threat. It doesn't take rocket science to know this is illegal. I sent him a strong letter advising him to not threaten me again and I only wanted to hear from him when he sends the amended paperwork in accordance with my father's will. It has been several weeks and I got nothing. What is my next step, and how can I bring her and her lawyer to account?

You need to get your own lawyer, this site and answers by lawyers here will not help you.

THIS RESPONSE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, SINCE I DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE REQUIRED, AND I DO NOT HAVE A REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT WITH YOU.

* If the answers to your question confirm that you have a valid issue or worthwhile claim, your next step should almost always be to establish a dialog with a lawyer who can provide specific advice to you. Contact a lawyer in your county or township.

* Another reason for contacting a lawyer is that it is often impossible to give a good answer in the Internet Q&A format without having more information. The unique circumstances of your situation and things that you may not have thought to mention in your question may completely change the answer. If you want to be sure that you have a complete answer to your question and an understanding of what that answer means, establish a connection with a lawyer who practices in the area of your concern.
