My son wishes to make a Will using computer software. He is going into the hospital and wants to know if he notorizes the will, will it be legal?

It's imposible for me to answer your question having not seen the computer generated "Will" and not knowing how your son plans on having the Will witnessed and Notarized.

In my opinion, this is neither the time or the place to fool around with do-it-yourself computer programs. He [or his heirs] will spend much more time and money trying to correct the problems created with this type of Will than he will 'save' by this "do it yourself job."

Use and experienced estate planning attorney to provide you with good, solid legal advice, and prepare a Will that you know does the job right.

I agree with Jon and many attornets will go to a hospital to assist a client and they usually have staff available to act as witnesses and the attorney can be the notary. There is specific language required in NJ for valid self-proving Wills, and if this loanguage is not present, the Will can be rejceted for probate. It is probably better, and the fee is not huge, to have a competent NJ attorney assist him.
