if the trustee of an inheritance dies without a will & no other one was appointed for children & the person who died lives in NC & the children live in NJ where the original will was made out, how can the children get control of their money?

It does not matter whether the Trustee has a will. The language in the Trust Document will determine who is the successor trustee. If there in no one named, it will be necessary to file an action in Court to have a new trustee appointed.
