Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Will

I live in NJ, 49, disabled, divorced, pay no alimony, no children. I had a attorney make my will about 10 years ago. I want to change executor and divide assets four ways. ie: A gets 10%, B gets 20%, C gets 30% and D gets 40%. Can this be done without an attorney and if not, any takers? What is the appoximate cost? Thank you.

Re: Will

You can get forms from a business supply store like Staples, Office Max, etc. They are relatively simple to complete, but you need to be sure that all formalities are complied with so there will be no probate problems. It would be best to use an attorney to assist you. I could help you, online or in in person, by drafting a document, sending it to you by e-mail, with instructions on its proper execution (signatures, witnesses, notarization, etc.). Online would run about $150.

Re: Will

You can do it yourself. If you have the original will, it needs to be torn in half after you sign your new will. Try wills.com. If you need help, a will from a lawyer should be about $250. Please call if you need help. Good luck.
