Re: will

The Executor is to propmptly inform everyone named in the Will of his/her appointment, by issuing a Notice of Probate. It may take some time (usually a few weeks or more after the appointment) to have preliminary information on the affairs of the estate. When I am involved as attorney for the estate, I try to advise of the preliminary information within 2 months of the appointment. The process can take many months, depending on the size of the estate, the type of assets involved, final income and possible death taxes, ascertaining all bills and payment of debts, etc. If it has been longer than several months since the appointment, you should inquire about the status of things.
