Re: wills

If your father is deceased, and he prepared a will, presumably that will has been probated. You can obtain a copy of the will from the Surrogate's court in the NJ county were your father lived at the time of his death. As an heir at law, following probate, the executor is also obligated to provide you with 'notice of probate' and a copy of the will.

Re: wills

Check with the court in your jurisdicton that handles probate of wills. If you don't find anything there, you will have to look in all the places he might have stored it.

Re: wills

I agree with the other writers, but add this. Do you even know if he ever made a Will? If not, someone in the family needs to be appointed Administrator of his estate. Did he have a wife when he passed? If so, she gets first chance to be appointed. If not, children are next in line. You have not provided sufficient facts for a better response, and more information is needed.
