Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey
Are wills particular to the state you reside in.
Do I have to update my will whenever I
move from one state to another as long
as nothing really will change other than
my residency?

You Will will still be "legal" in your new state, but you should have an attorney review both the will and your overall estate plan to be sure there is not some state law that may require a revision or update to your documents, including your Will.
