Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey

NJ Worker's comp

After having been seriously injured at work by a fellow employee, and not returning for over a year (faced with no other option) resulted in my applying and receipt of a state accidental pension....then having recently talked to my WC attorney (via phone) as to the status of my pending WC case (which he informs me is now waiting on a hearing date) he became quite upset with me when he learned of my recent retirement....saying I ''ruined the case'' disputing that I could have and should have returned to work, and that he would now be ''working for peanuts'' Is there any merit to this? ....or is he just a contentious and unethical Nut! I now fear that he may further complicate matters by not performing as needed, resulting in a less favorable outcome in my case....What if anything, can I do?

Re: NJ Worker's comp

I am very surprised and upset at his behavior too. I think that such behavior is really uncalled for by a licensed professional. I am an attorney who has represented many people in your situation, including people who have been receiving government retirement pensions of different types while still having an open workers compensation claim, in various workers compensatroin courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Although I usually don't talk to people who are already represented, in your case it seems as if a breach has already opened between you and your attorney. You are allowed to switch attorneys at mostly any time. Please call me if you would like to discuss your claim. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
