Legal Question in Workers Comp in New Jersey
Non Payment of contract Money
Sir
Lets say company X owes company Y $50000 and the contract clearly says the payments terms as net 30 days but teh company started paying the amounts late (say net 90 days)and the total amount came to $50000.
There was a contract work which was supposed to be completed and and they were supposed to pay us the same every month but now they say that they will not pay us and more over they are avoiding our phone calls and also our our mails.Everytime we send a certified mail it is returned to us.All our efforts are wasted and i personally enquired with the company which paid company X the money for this contract work. They have been paid in full.
Please advice us as its lots of money and we cant afford to loose all the money as we are a firm making losses due to companies like this .
I have 2 companies who are doing like this but the amounts are different. Please advise

Re: Non Payment of contract Money
Although this is not a workers compensation question, since workers compensation deals with people who get injured on the job, I will be happy to answer your question on this contract dispute anyway.
The first way to approach this is to retain a lawyer to try to negotiate a resolution to this matter. My experience has always been that a straightforward letter from a lawyer is usually enough to get a stubborn party to start talking. If they still won't respond, then the next step would be to file a lawsuit for breach of contract seeking the balance due to you as well as any other damages you may have suffered as a result of the bad behavior of the other party.
I would be very happy to speak with you about these two options and how I can help you with this situation. Please call me at 908-272-0111 so we can discuss this. I look forward to hearing from you.
